The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) is an autonomous body established under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India which has been established under the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006.
FSSAI is a legal control that provides a food license to all food business operators (FBO) in India. All FBOs are supposed to abide by the rules and regulations of FSSAI for quality control. As per the size of production, managing nature of food business activities and range of operation the FBOs needs an FSSAI registration to be done. The FBO is given a 14 digit number that is required to be printed on the food packaging.
FSSAI Registration is essentially a food safety certificate provided by the food authority in India. The eligibility for issuing an FSSAI license lies with all manufacturers, restaurant owners, grocery shops, traders, importers and exporters. The FSSAI license includes a series of quality checks which reduces the case of adulteration.

- Document for Identity Proof like Ration Card, Voter ID Card, PAN Card, Driving License, Passport, Aadhar Card, Senior Citizen Card, Department Issued ID.
- Supporting Documents (if any):- NOC by Municipality or Panchayat, Health NOC.
